Under the sun and sea breeze of Samal Island, Epson Philippines Corporation brought together members of the media for Fusion 17, its annual partner engagement event that continues to evolve beyond product updates into a platform for meaningful conversations on innovation, sustainability, and shared responsibility.
Now on its 17th year, Fusion serves as an avenue for open discussions about Epson’s business priorities, technological advancements, and long-term vision. This year's theme, ECOPRINT, underscored the company's belief that lasting impact is built through consistent action, responsible practices, and strong partnerships.
During the Brand Talk session on the opening day of the event, Epson executives shared how sustainability remains deeply integrated into the company’s operations, product development, and long-term strategy under its Engineered Future 2035 vision. The discussion highlighted Epson’s commitment to creating solutions that address real-world challenges while delivering long-term value to businesses, communities, and the environment.
“At Epson, sustainability is part of how we work every day. It guides the way we develop our technologies, run our business, and work with our partners and communities,” said Masako Kusama, President and Director of Epson Philippines Corporation. “Through Fusion, we are grateful for the opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and continue building meaningful partnerships.”
Epson also highlighted how sustainability is reflected in the technologies it develops. The company showcased its Heat-Free technology and energy-efficient printing solutions, which help organizations improve operational efficiency while reducing power consumption and environmental impact.
Beyond its products, Epson shared how sustainability is practiced within its own operations through initiatives such as waste segregation programs, recycling efforts, and its employee-led Trash to Treasure campaign. In fiscal year 2025 alone, Epson Philippines collected more than 1,100 kilograms of plastic waste and over 1,100 kilograms of shredded paper for recycling and upcycling initiatives.
The company further highlighted its collaboration with WWF-Philippines in Pio Duran, Albay, a project focused on strengthening community waste management systems through improved waste collection, plastic recycling, and capacity-building programs. Epson also discussed its Corporate Waste Collection Program, which was first launched in Davao and later expanded to Cebu, helping channel partners properly collect, dispose of, and recycle used consumables and other waste materials.

Complementing the discussions was Conquer the Elements: The Samal Challenge, an island-wide activity that encouraged participants to work together through a series of challenges designed to test teamwork, adaptability, and problem-solving skills across various locations around Samal Island.
Through insightful discussions and shared experiences, Fusion 17 demonstrated how sustainability and innovation can work hand in hand, reinforcing Epson’s commitment to creating positive impact through everyday actions, collaboration, and long-term consistency.
