Zootopia 2 Sets Disney Record with Highest Global Animated Opening and the Biggest Hollywood Animation Opening in 2025 across SEA

Zootopia 2 has slithered straight to the top of the global box office, raking in a record-breaking US$556 million in its opening weekend, clinching the highest global debut of 2025, the 4th highest global opening of all-time, and the highest global opening for any animated film in Disney history. In Southeast Asia, the film generated over $8M to date, with Malaysia ($2M) and Thailand ($1.7M) leading the regional charge, opening at All Industry No.1 in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

In the Philippines, fans were immersed in Zootopia 2 through a series of activations. A Zootopia-inspired setup debuted at SM Mall of Asia, while a Zootopia 2 bus toured Metro Manila’s main roads, schools, universities, and parks.

In Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Zootopia 2, rookie cops Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman) find themselves on the twisting trail of a great mystery when Gary De’Snake (voice of Ke Huy Quan) arrives in Zootopia and turns the animal metropolis upside down. To crack the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before. The film also features the voices of Fortune Feimster, Andy Samberg, Idris Elba, Patrick Warburton, Quinta Brunson, Nate Torrence, and Shakira, who returns as Gazelle.
