Filipino tennis superstar Alex Eala will return to the Philippines on December 8, 2026 for a homecoming match against Indonesia’s Janice Tjen at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
In a video message, Eala announced that she will face Tjen in an exhibition match titled “Alex Eala Live: Game. Set. Celebrate,” organized by Tatler Sports and set to take place at the country’s biggest arena, which has a capacity of more than 50,000.
“Get ready for an unforgettable day of world-class tennis and the celebration of national pride, designed to inspire the next generation of Filipino tennis players,” Eala said.
“I can’t wait to share this moment with you and celebrate our culture together,” she added.
Eala is currently ranked No. 18 in the WTA rankings, making her the highest-ranked player from Southeast Asia. Eala and Tjen previously teamed up in the doubles event of the Abu Dhabi Open, where they reached the semifinals.
