Converge Expands Fiber Network in Visayas and Mindanao with 1M New Ports

Converge fiber internet network infrastructure expansion Philippines
Converge ICT Solutions Inc. is stepping up its network expansion this year as it aims to reach more Filipino homes and businesses with faster and more reliable internet.

The Philippine fixed broadband provider plans to roll out nearly one million additional fiber ports in 2026, giving more areas access to its fiber internet services. The expansion is expected to strengthen connectivity nationwide, with a strong focus on Visayas and Mindanao.

To support this plan, Converge has set aside up to ₱23 billion in capital expenditures for 2026. Most of this budget will go toward expanding and improving its fiber network infrastructure. The amount represents around a 30 percent increase compared to its ₱17.7 billion investment in 2025.

A large part of this budget is dedicated to what the company calls network hardening. This involves building backup routes and strengthening existing infrastructure to make the network more reliable, especially during outages or heavy usage.

At the same time, Converge continues to bring fiber connectivity to new cities and municipalities across the Philippines.

“We are investing heavily in our network expansion as we push harder for visibility in Visayas and Mindanao. At the same time, we are ramping up our Enterprise business amid increasing demand for quality connectivity and innovative solutions from enterprises of all sizes,” said Converge CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy.

Strong Expansion in Visayas and Mindanao
Some of the areas expected to benefit from the expansion include Western Visayas and Northern Mindanao, where more than 100,000 new ports are being prepared for service this year.

New ports will also be rolled out in several provinces, including Capiz, Samar, Bukidnon, Davao de Oro, and Sultan Kudarat. These upgrades aim to bring fiber internet to more communities that are still underserved.

By expanding its network infrastructure, Converge hopes to make reliable high-speed internet more accessible in regions outside major cities.

Growing Subscriber Base
Converge’s expansion comes as demand for its fiber internet continues to grow. By 2025, the company had reached nearly three million residential subscribers, with a port utilization rate of 37 percent. As of the end of 2025, Converge had already built 9.2 million ports nationwide, covering around 66 percent of homes across the country.

“We expect to further increase our port utilization even as we accelerate our port rollout given the continued strong demand for our flagship FiberX plans, steady rise in our low-cost postpaid BIDA, and the vigorous take-up of our prepaid internet Surf2Sawa or S2S,” said Uy.

Recognized for Network Performance
Converge also ended 2025 with several major industry recognitions. According to Ookla, the company was named the Philippines’ Best Fixed Network, Fastest Fixed Network, and Best Video Experience for the third and fourth quarters of 2025.

In December 2025, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) also recognized Converge as the national broadband leader among major providers in the country.

The recognition came after Converge recorded the best average download speeds, upload speeds, and latency among the major broadband players.
Strong Financial Growth

Converge closed 2025 with strong financial results. The company posted ₱44.8 billion in revenue, reflecting a 10.2 percent increase from the previous year. Net income also grew to ₱11.9 billion, representing a 9.6 percent increase year-on-year.

With continued investments in infrastructure and expanding coverage across the country, Converge is aiming to bring faster and more reliable fiber internet to even more Filipino homes in the coming years.
