Founded by a group of Japanese expatriates, J Foundation began in a humble hospital in Hanoi back in 2017 and has since developed into a major philanthropic organization with more than 600 Japanese donors. Today, the foundation is committed to empowering children, communities, and institutions in Asia, through various sustainable initiatives.
J Foundation’s sustainable programs are anchored on one its three pillars: healthcare, education, and social development, which are implemented annually to ensure consistent and meaningful support for partner communities.
Its donors include Filipino and Japanese educators, health advocates, artists, and performers, all united in spreading warmth and support to the families and beneficiaries.

The foundation’s donations directly go toward supporting their partner communities by providing either medical equipment, hospital supplies for pediatric patients, and learning materials for young learners.
This year’s concert embraced the theme A Symphony of Giving, emphasizing how compassion—whether expressed through caring for the planet, supporting pediatric patients, promoting inclusive education, or offering hope and help to cancer warriors–can bring people from different walks of life together to build a shared, impactful movement.
“Through this concert, we hope to bring these children and their families joy and to remind communities of how generosity and kindness can inspire meaningful action,” shared Takahiro Fushimi, Executive Director of J Foundation.
Apart from the usual Japanese benefactors, the foundation regularly collaborates with international partners to drive meaningful long-term initiatives while working closely with key Philippine institutions across the Philippines, including: the Philippine General Hospital - Department of Pediatrics, Silahis ng Kalusugan, CHILD Foundation Inc., the Schools Division Office - Manila, the Inclusive Learning Resource Center at P. Gomez Elementary School, and Silahis ng Kaunlaran.
Among the notable attendees were celebrated Filipina singer Morissette Amon, Miss Grand Philippines International 2024 CJ Opiaza, along with performers from the Daloy Dance Company, the Taiko Drummers, and the Mandaluyong Children’s Choir.
“We want this concert to be more than just another celebration; we want it to be a moment for everyone to reflect on how they, too, can play a part in uplifting the lives of these kids, and for the kids themselves to be inspired to dream big,” Mr. Fushimi added.
For this year’s concert, J Foundation showcased a series of initiatives aimed at uplifting children in meaningful and lasting ways. The Philos Green Games tabletop game, donated by Mr. Eiji Murata, encouraged kids to explore creative ways of caring for the environment. The Crowning Courage project, supported by world-champion stylist Mr. Masaaki Kurosawa, brought handcrafted wigs to young cancer warriors who have lost their hair due to treatments. And thanks to the generosity of Dr. Masato Yokosuka, children also received essential hygiene kits.
Together, these efforts demonstrated how imagination, compassion, and community can work hand in hand to nurture hope. Beyond the concert, the foundation continues to sustain their community initiatives. In the years to come, J Foundation looks to further expand its programs in the Philippines, strengthening partnerships and developing initiatives that can reach even more children and communities in need.
“By bringing together communities, donors, volunteers, and artists, we at J Foundation hope to inspire the belief that giving—even in its simplest form—can create ripples of compassion long after the event,” concluded Mr. Fushimi.
Alongside this year’s donation of Wikahon children’s activity books to Silahis ng Kaunlaran, J Foundation has provided indigent students with much needed support, providing student lunch meals since 2018 and have since broadened their support to include prepaid internet for access for online classes, hygiene kits, family grocery packages, computer sets, and essential school supplies for communities in need.
